The
program content for Greening the Heartland will be categorized
into four different sectors, according to these building
types:
CORPORATE
TRACK
This track will focus on individual
corporations that have applied green building designs
and/or other initiatives to advance green design. Areas
of discussion may include but are not limited to the
following:
EDUCATIONAL
TRACK
This track will focus on case studies or
practices in the K-12 and university systems. Examples
may include, but are not limited to:
Curriculum which educates our future green building
advocate.
Sustainable programs which address energy and environmental
quality for buildings, campuses and systems.
Sustainable programs for new and renovated buildings.
Sustainable programs which address acquisition,
operation and disposal of administrative, maintenance
and educational material.
Assistance and ideas to inform professional, corporate
and civic organizations of ways to promote and implement
green building practices.
GREEN COMMUNITIES
This track will focus on a variety of methods by which
green design can be applied within both new and existing
communities. Areas of discussion may include but
are not limited to the following:
GOVERNMENT
This track will focus on the political and economic issues
impacting the success or failure of smart planning and
intelligent, informed building efforts for both urban and
rural areas throughout the heartland region. Possible
topics may include but are not limited to:
