LEED for Neighborhood Development (ND)
- What does it take to develop LEED ND neighborhood projects?
Identify strategies and pitfalls, costs and benefits,
challenges and solution.
- Is there a critical mass required for developing LEED
ND neighborhoods? This could include shared alternative
energy sources, transit oriented development strategies,
and alternate sanitation treatment strategies.

- Emphasis on the redevelopment of individual and multiple
sites in urban areas which improve the environment and

- Retrofitting existing buildings and homes with green
design strategies.
City Greening
- Greenways, linkages, wildlife corridors, bike and ped
paths, parks, recreational facilities, livability, restoring
community, restoration of habitat, ponds and lakes, community
gardens, master plans, grassroots efforts, etc.
- Incorporating low impact stormwater management and
sustainable landscaping into individual sites, PUD’s,
mixed use developments and dense/ultra-dense urban areas.
