The Greening the Heartland 2008 Conference
Steering Committee is committed to conducting an environmentally
responsible conference in St. Louis. To provide the
focus needed for this effort, a Greening Committee was
established. The Greening Committee has and continues
to evaluate our management activities with regard to conference
planning to ensure we act in the most environmentally responsible
manner possible at each phase of the planning and implementation
process.
We request that our vendors and contractors support this
goal through environmentally responsible procedures, practices
and the use of environmentally responsible products. We
also ask all conference attendees to act in eco-friendly
ways as they participate in all activities offered during
Greening the Heartland 2008. We have developed and
provided our Greening Checklist to the America’s
Center, our conference site, participating hotels in St.
Louis and other vendors to ensure the use of green practices
wherever possible. A synopsis of environmental initiatives
employed for the Conference are provided on separate pages;
