On site
Facility
- Lap tops instead of desk top computers will be used
on site as they use only 10% of the power required by
a desktop.
- Recycling bins will be readily available and well marked
throughout the conference facility.
- Lights in exhibit hall and meeting rooms will be turned
down or off when not in use.
- Audio visual equipment will be turned off when not
in use.
- Name badges will be recycled.
Food & Beverage
- Attendees will be provided with reusable conference
water bottles that can be refilled from large water dispensers.
Attendees will be encouraged to use them during the conference
to reduce or eliminate the use of single use, single
serve water bottles.
- Every effort has been made to source catered food items
for the conference that are locally grown or produced.
- No single portion package items or single serve containers
(ketchup, coffee, cream, sugar etc.) will be used.
- No Styrofoam or disposable plates, utensils, etc. will
be used.
- For all goods procured for the conference, preference
will given to the most environmentally appropriate alternatives
that are available at a reasonable price and are locally
produced
