  GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING ABSTRACTS

In order to be considered as a Greening the Heartland presenter, you must first submit an abstract summary of your proposed presentation. The deadline for abstract submissions has been extended to January 11, 2008.

  • Abstracts must relate to and be submitted under one of the four specific track topics described above.
  • Those interested in presenting a paper and/or case materials are required to submit an executive summary/abstract (maximum of a 500-word count).
  • Identify the preferred presentation style (presentation or poster presentation) in the field provided.
  • In addition to the executive summary/abstract, provide three learning objectives that will be accomplished in the proposed presentation.  A learning objective answers the questions, “At the end of this presentation, the session attendees will be able to….”
  • Provide a brief biography of the presenter plus references and/or a list of conference events and professional organization programs where you have delivered a presentation.  While previous speaking experience is an advantage, new presenters with creative proposals of merit are encouraged to submit and will be given fair consideration.
  • Submission must be done online.  You can visit the abstract submissions site through this website.
  • All abstracts may be considered for three types of presentations:
    • Single Presenter Format.* An oral presentation approximately 45 minutes in length.  Each educational session is 1 hour and 15 minutes in length and will consist of 1 presenter per session, allowing for audience interaction by way of questions and answers.  Each session will be coordinated and lead by one moderator.
    • Multiple Presenter Format. An oral presentation approximately 20 minutes in length.  Each educational session is 1 hours and 15 minutes in length and will consist of 2-3 presenters per session, allowing for audience interaction by way of questions and answers.  Each session will be coordinated and lead by one moderator.
    • A Poster Presentation. Requires a graphic display of photos, charts, narrative, etc. on a 4’ x 8’ (horizontal) display board.

Please note that GTH prohibits product-specific sales pitches in all presentations.

*The GTH Program Committee may request that Single Presenter Format submissions be modified and combined into a Multiple-Presenter Format in order to present a more comprehensive conference program.

PRESENTATION/PAPER FORMAT
All selected presenters will be requested to provide a PowerPoint presentation and/or papers by May 1, 2008 using the presentation standards provided on the conference website.

PRESENTER REGISTRATION RATE
All presenters must register for the conference.  Presenters will be given a 50% discount on the conference registration rate.
