Want to Volunteer for GTH 2012?


General Information


Complimentary registration is provided to students who volunteer to assist with the conference. Descriptions are listed below. Shifts are in four-hour increments on May 16, 17, and 18, except where noted. Please email your first and second preferences for job, day, and time to info@greeningtheheartland.org.


Descriptions


Registration:
Your role will consist of distributing name badges and bags to pre-registered attendees and answering some general questions. You will not be responsible for accepting payment or on-site registrations but will direct those attendees to the appropriate staff at the registration desk.

Session Assistant: You will help presenters with their presentations in any of the following ways: load presentations onto laptops, hook up laptops to projectors, make sure equipment is working and lighting is adequate, manage session attendance to ensure flow of the conference is not impeded, ensure attendees are in the proper session, and handle general questions. Presentations are scheduled in 90-minute increments. Volunteers are expected to be in their designated room 15 minutes before the session begins and are to remain in the room for the entire session. You will also be responsible for handing out CEU certificates as the session ends.

Information and Wayfinding: You will assist conference attendees in finding their way to sessions and events. You should be familiar with the conference program agenda, the layout, and the location of the session rooms and exhibit hall, rest rooms, etc.

Pre-Conference Registration Preparation: Pre-conference preparation duties include assembly of conference badges and stuffing conference literature in bags to be given to attendees. Two people are needed on Tuesday, May 15.
